All people have a right to healthy, delicious produce. For those of our neighbors who have been historically excluded from enjoying the bounty of local farms, we founded The First Harvest Pantry at Lyall Community Church here in Millbrook in 2015. Every week throughout the growing season, we donate a portion of the freshly harvested produce we grow, along with a selection of prepared foods made with our produce, to The First Harvest Pantry. The prepared foods that are not distributed at First Harvest are delivered to the Community Fridge at the Millbrook Library.
At the same time, we make weekly produce donations to our local chapter of Meals on Wheels. On average each week during the 2022 growing season, we served at least 50 people through the Food Pantry and another 90 people through Meals on Wheels.
